Lindsay Lohan Banned from India?

The starlet's tweets may get her banned from India.

The UK's Telegraph reports that immigration officials in India are considering adding Lindsay Lohan to their immigration blacklist. The starlet visited India last year in order to film a documentary on sex trafficking, but problems with her visa are now surfacing and threatening to get Lohan banned from the country for good.

According to the report, the Mean Girls star traveled to India on a tourist visa instead of a work visa. However, this mistake might have been overlooked if not for Lohan's tweets while abroad. It seems that the starlet lied about the number of children she was saving from India's dangerous sex trafficking rings in a child labor sweatshop.

Lohan tweeted, "Over 40 children saved so far ... Within one day's work ... This is what life is about ... Doing THIS is a life worth living!!!"

She also said, "Focusing on celebrities and lies is so disconcerting, when we can be changing the world one child at a time ... hope everyone can see that."

It was messages like these that first caught the attention of Indian officials and other activists in the raid. The Telegraph reports that Lohan was not yet in India when the actual raid of the sweatshop occurred, and as a result of her lies activists who did participate alerted officials to Lohan's false tweets. It was then that the immigrations office discovered problems with Lohan's visa.

There has yet to be any ruling in Lohan's case, but it is currently under review in New Delhi. The documentary, which aired on the UK's BBC3, is called Lindsay Lohan in India.
