Remember when Lindsay Lohan was young and innocent in The Parent Trap? Well, it has been reported that she was up against Phantom Of The Opera star Emmy Rossum for the role.
According to Perez Hilton, the whole story of Lindsay Lohan’s career may have been changed if Emmy Rossum beat out Lohan for the role! However, we all know Lohan did receive the role and Rossum was left to make her fame through other films.
Celebbuzz.com reports that the 25 year-old actress, Rossum, is now revealing that she really wanted the role, but has no hard feelings towards the success it brought Lohan.
“Not at all. Lindsay beat me out of the role…” Rossum told Celebbuzz. “I’m having the time of my life and currently working on Shameless.”
Lohan’s role in the 1998 remake of The Parent Trap landed her a Young Artist Award for best performance in a feature film. She then landed a three-film contract with Disney.
Where would Lohan be now if Rossum had beat her out for the role? We will never know, but at least Rossum has still made her career a success. She is now starring on the television show Shameless and is content with the way in which her Parent Trap auditions ended up.
