Lindsay Lohan is currently involved in negotiations to star in Escaping the Game, a film centering on celebrities who struggle to cope with their fame and notoriety.

While the troubled actress has yet to sign a contract, producer Nathan Folks is optimistic that the two sides can finalize a deal in the coming weeks.

“She wants to do it,” Folks, a close friend of Lohan’s, said in an exclusive interview with RadarOnline.com.

“We can get her insured if she is with someone who is keeping an eye on her 24/7. Lindsay and I’ve discussed it and she’s already agreed to the condition.”

If Lohan signs on to star in the upcoming film, it would become her first project since completing her three-month rehab stint at the Betty Ford Center.

Folks revealed that the character he wants Lohan to portray is an investigator hired to track down several celebrities who fake their own deaths and seek seclusion on a remote island to create new lives for themselves.

10 Things I Hate About You star Chris Zylka, who will play a supporting role in Marc Webb’s upcoming superhero film The Amazing Spider-Man, is in talks to star opposite Lohan in Escaping the Game, the New York Post reports.
