Lindsay Lohan's father hopes to repair the broken relationship with his famous daughter.

Linday Lohan's father, Michael Lohan, said he's ready to repair his strained relationship with his daughter, New York Newsday reported. Michael was recently released from Collins Correctional Facility in New York where he served nearly two years. He served time for attempted assault in the second degree and aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle.

"I think she knows she needs us both," Lohan told the newspaper, referring to Lindsay's mother, Dina. "I'm going to wait, and when she sees I'm walking the walk, I'm hopeful she'll open the door."

Michael Lohan went to Bible college during his prison time and became a minister with the Assemblies of God Ministry. He said he hopes to help youth troubled.

My relationship with Lindsay - that's personal," he said. "I just want to be there for her. She needs both parents, not just one."
