Linkin Park Wants Out of Contract
Plans to release new material via the internet
Hard rock band Linkin Park is fuming mad and want out of their contract with Warner Music Group. The contract demands another four albums from the highly popular group. Linkin Park claims that their albums alone have produced 10 percent of the label's revenue and new owners set to take over the label will see big numbers but none of that money will go to the band. Rather than release another album through their label, Linkin Park plans to distribute their music over the internet. The label finds both the band's claims and their demands (60 million dollars upfront and 50-50 profit sharing) to be preposterous. There have been no formal talks between band and label at this time.
