Live Rolling Stones Album!
Universal Music will be releasing a new live album for the Rolling Stones amid rumors of a strained relationship between the Brit Rock group and EMI Music.
According to 'The Wall Street Journal', the Rolling Stones have been recording under EMI Group for 2 decades, but after the expiration of their contract, the Stones are free to find refugee elsewhere.
EMI has recently been slammed after successions of high-profile artists have stopped working with the company. Established British rock band, Radiohead, earlier quit after a dispute about money and creative control and Robbie Williams manager recently stated the singer wouldn't hand over his next album, and accused EMI of behaving like a "plantation owner."
As of now, Universal has agreed to distribute the soundtrack CD for director Martin Scorsese's film "Shine A Light," shot at a Rolling Stones concert. Nonetheless, the deal has compelled speculation that the Stones may sign a recording deal with Universal when their contract with EMI expires.
However, EMI continues to stress its good relations with the Stones and said it wasn't aware of any plans to part with the group EMI states they have "a very good relationship with the Rolling Stones, stretching back over 20 years, and there's no reason why we shouldn't be able to work together for many years to come."
I guess we'll have to wait and see where the Rolling Stones are headed.
