Live's Regis Philbin Needs Bypass
Regis Philbin, one of the hosts of Live with Regis and Kelly, stated on Monday that he will need to get bypass surgery next week.
Philbin, 75, announced to his audience, "Well, listen, I gotta tell you something...I had been feeling chest pains, you know, and, uh, shortness of breath and all those little symptoms that you hear about," and continued to say after many opinions he has willingly agreed to go ahead with the surgery. However, it doesn't mean he is looking forward to it one bit.
"Darn it, I don't want to do it," he said. "Nobody wants to do it, I guess. And I had a second opinion, I did all those things, and so they're all in agreement that it should be the bypass. And so that's what I'm gonna do."
His co-host, Kelly Ripa, has already said she will be taking care of him throughout his whole recovery process. "My primary job will be, like it or not, get your pills ready; your sponge-bath nurse."
