Looks like LL Cool J is really living up to his name.
MTV News reported the rapper turned actor will be hosting the Grammy Awards this year.
Of course, a lot of celebrities host awards shows, so what’s so impressive about this one?
Maybe it's the fact that the Grammy Awards ceremony hasn’t had a host in seven years. Queen Latifah was the last host for the awards, in 2005.
According to People, the two-time Grammy winner has hosted the live Grammy nominations concert show since 2008, but has never hosted the actual awards ceremony, until now.
"I'm thrilled to be part of Music's Biggest Night," the 44-year-old, whose actual name is James Todd Smith, said in a statement. "I will always have fond memories of my first Grammy Awards and to now be hosting the Grammy show, in the company of so many other incredible artists, is a dream come true.”
You can catch LL and judge his hosting skills at the 54th Grammy Awards, which air on February 12 on CBS at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
Jason Aldean, Kelly Clarkson, Foo Fighters, Bruno Mars, Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift are all scheduled to perform.
Previous hosts include Jon Stewart, Billy Crystal, Ellen DeGeneres and Rosie O’Donnell.
