Lohan Will Not Appear in Court on Monday

The actress's attorney will appear on Lohan's behalf in court after a warrant was issued for Lohan's arrest.

According to EW.com, although a warrant for Lindsay Lohan's arrest was issued on Friday, the actress will not appear at her scheduled court hearing on Monday. Instead, the actress's lawyer will appear on Lohan's behalf, the Associated Press reports. A statement from Shawn Chapman Holley, Lohan's attorney, asserts that the warrant was the result of a "misunderstanding" after the actress allegedly did not comply with the terms of her probation. A report from Extra indicates these terms may be related to an alcohol education program that Lohan failed to attend, while Access Hollywood contends that Lohan violated parole by driving herself to Las Vegas to attend one of girlfriend Samantha Ronson's DJ performances. According to Access Hollywood, the star is on a restricted license and is only permitted to drive for work.

In 2007, Lohan pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor counts of being under the influence of cocaine; a plea of no contest to two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, and one count of reckless driving. She spent a total of 84 minutes in jail before being placed on three years probation and ordered to complete an 18-month alcohol education program. Any violation of Lohan's parole could land her in jail for up to a year.
