Long-Awaited Beatles catalog debuts

Companies reissue Beatles catalog

According to MTV.com, EMI music and Apple Corps. Ltd. will release a digitally remastered edition of the original Beatles catalog on September 9. The CD catalog will include all twelve albums of the Beatles recordings in a restored format with the original artwork and booklets, as well as some new liner notes by the band and some rarely seen photos.

The Chicago Tribune states that the four year process of remastering the albums was well spent, as along with the twelve recordings in stereo, the catalog will also feature collections called "Past Masters Vol. I and II," and "Magical Mystery Tour."

The first catalog was released on CD format in 1987. Fans hope this reissue will have a rich resemblance to the analog sound of the premier LP recordings. For a limited time, each CD in the catalog will include a documentary about the making of each particular album, cnetnews.com reports.
