Long-Awaited Split for LeAnn Rimes

LeAnn Rimes and her husband, Dean Sheremet, announced their long-awaited separation on Friday, reports freep.com.

The couple was married in 2002 when Rimes was 19 years old and Sheremet was 22. According to People.com, the couple has been living apart for months, but they continued to try and save their marriage.

Rimes has been in the rumor mill for a while now fighting talk that she had an affair with actor Eddie Cibrian. Four months ago, video footage of them kissing at a restaurant surfaced on the Internet, reports freep.com. The two met while filming the Lifetime movie, "Northern Lights." Rimes and Cibrian have both denied having an affair.

The announcement of the split comes in the same week that Cibrian and his wife, Brandi Glanville, announced their own split. Glanville has now come to the conclusion that Rimes and Cibrian "deserve each other," reports E! Online.
