Love's Words Come Back to Bite

Love is being sued for libel by fashion designer Dawn Simorangkir for making "menacing and disturbing" statements about her character, reports BBC News.

According to TheCelebrityCafe.com, the lawsuit, which was filed Thursday, contains information of Love libeling the designer on Twitter and MySpace, with claims such as Simorangkir being a drug-addicted prostitute, among other defamatory statements.

Simorangkir, who is also known as Boudoir Queen, says that Love never paid for works completed, creating the breach of contract addition to the lawsuit, according to the Associated Press.

Love is known for being the front-runner of her band, Hole, but has also become well-known for being the widow of Nirvana's once front man, Kurt Cobain. She has also been seen in the media eye for altercations with other famous celebrities like Madonna.

Libel lawsuits have been case-by-case with respect to the Internet, so it will be interesting to see how these defamatory statements hold up in court.
