Lucas Honored by President Bush

George Lucas was honored Monday for his innovative movie techniques

Famed Hollywood filmmaker George Lucas has been recognized by President George W. Bush for his achievements in technology. The director is the series of the Star Wars movies received a National Medal of Science and Technology for his company's ground-breaking visual effects and technology in films on Monday. The movie giant and Chrissie England, the president of his company Industrial Light and Magic, were among 15 people awarded for their innovative work. The ceremony was held in Washington, D.C. President Bush commended the recipients, saying, "The spirit of discovery is one of our national strengths."
