Mackenzie Phillips Defends Accuracy of Incest Claim

Mackenzie Phillips returned to Oprah on Friday to discuss therelationship she shared with her father, Mamas and Papas singer John Phillips. She defended her claim of a ten-year incestualrelationship with him.

"It's been heartening and heartbreaking at the same time," she said.

According to Phillips, the relationshipstarted in 1979. She reported thather father forced himself on her while they were high on drugs.

She became pregnant ten years later,and didn't know who the father was:her husband or her father. So, she ended the sexual relationship with her father and the pregnancy was terminated.

Mackenzie claimed her father showed her how to roll a jointwhen she was ten. She said she tried cocaineat eleven-years-old.

There were lots of disbelief fromsome family members about her claims.

Even today, people have theirdoubts about her claims.

However, she professes to loveher father, and forgives him.
