Mackenzie Phillips Heads to Rehab
The 1980s actress, Mackenzie Phillips, made headlines last week when she was arrested at LAX for possession. This week, the actress is heading back to rehab, according to People.
The actress's attorney, Blair Berk, confirmed her client's entry into rehab Wednesday.
Phillips is seeking treatment after her Aug. 27 arrest for alleged drug possession at Los Angeles International Airport. Airport police said the star was carrying what appeared to be cocaine and heroin.
Phillips was bailed out by her sister late last week.
Phillips has since been charged with two felonies for possession of heroin and cocaine, as well as a misdemeanor charge of unauthorized possession of a hypodermic needle or syringe.
If convicted, Phillips could face up to three years and eight months in jail for the felony charges and an additional six months for the misdemeanor, according to People.
The 48-year-old actress will be arraigned on Oct. 3.
The former One Day at a Time star has been battling drug addiction since her early sitcom days in the '70s. She has made several trips to rehab for her addiction.
The star was most recently seen as the rock star turned mom character on the Disney Channel's So Weird.
