Madea Returning To The Stage

Tyler Perry has had great success with his plays, movies, and acting career. His Madea character, based off of his own late mother, has made him a household name with film adaptations of plays like Diary of a Mad Black Woman and Madea's Family Reunion. In addition, he recently lent a hand to Precious, a film based off the novel Push by Sapphire, which is up for multiple awards.

Once hearing his credentials, the only question to ask could be: What's Next?

On Saturday, Perry announced on TylerPerry.com that Madea is returning to her roots: the stage. Madea's Big Happy Family will begin its tour on January 4 in El Paso, Texas, sweeping the United States until May 9.

And how does Perry feel about going from the big screen back to the little stage? “In the movies, I’m limited, but on stage ... FREEEEDDOMMMM!!! LOL.”
