Madonna and Ritchie Attempt Friendship

Guy Ritchie was seen visiting Madonna's NYC apartment this Tuesday, despite their separation in 2008. The Daily News reports that Ritchie is trying to get along with his ex-wife after Madonna's daughter, Lourdes, asked if they could try to get along.

"Madonna and Guy aren't reconciling," a source told the Daily News. "They're working very hard to have an amicable divorce, because Madonna's daughter Lourdes came to them begging, 'Please don't be mean to each other.' Then she told them she wanted everything to be as friendly as possible."

Ritchie was in NYC filming a scene for his new movie, Sherlock Holmes, and, for the sake of the children, decided to pay Madonna a visit. Apparently he is following Lourdes's advice. Another source claimed: "Madge and Guy are getting along better than they have in over a year. Their separation has had a positive effect on their relationship as parents."

Religion may also have a role in the former couple's newfound friendship.

"Kabbalah doesn't encourage divorce," said one of Madonna's friends. "So her friends in the religion are pushing them to reunite or, at the very least, maintain a solid friendship."
