Madonna Boasts Biggest '08 Tour

The Material Girl draws over $200 million from her latest tour.

Madonna's Sticky & Sweet tour was the highest-grossing worldwide music tour this year, making a total of $281.6 million, the concert tracking magazine, Pollstar, reports.

The 58-show world tour wrapped in Brazil last week. Madonna played in 17 countries, taking in $105.3 million in North America alone. These high tallies make Sticky & Sweet the highest-grossing tour by a solo artist of all time.

She was followed closely by Celine Dion, who made $236.6 million off her first worldwide tour in over eight years. The French-Canadian singer, who performed in 24 countries, is hardly a newcomer to these Pollstar lists. She has been one of their top 10 acts every year since 2003.

Bon Jovi was the third highest-grossing worldwide act with $176.3 million, while Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band ($165.8 million) and the Police ($120.6 million) - the biggest North American act last year - rounded out the top five.
