Madonna is rumored to be performing during halftime of this year’s Super Bowl.

Come February 5, the “Like a Virgin” singer could be the main event at Super Bowl XLVI, which will be at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

MSNBC reports that Madonna has come close to performing at two previous Super Bowls -- XXXIII and XXXV – but the plans have always fell through.

SB Nation first reported the news, and revealed that a spokesperson for the NFL has declined to comment on the report.

In 2008, Madonna’s music was used for a SunSilk commercial, for which the singer reportedly pocketed $10 million for.

Last year, Super Bowl performers included the Black Eyed Peas, Usher, and Slash, with The Who performing in 2010.

Would Madonna be a good edition to this year’s Super Bowl halftime show?
