Madonna Speaks Out About Adoption
Much to her dismay, Madonna has recently had her request for adoption rejected. According to E! Online, Madonna has appealed the decision set down in March.
The singer has her heart set on a 3-year-old Malawi named Mercy James. But according to the law of the land, non-residents are not allowed to adopt children.
"I want to provide Mercy with a home, a loving family environment, and the best education possible," she said, while giving an interview with Nation on Sunday, a Malawi newspaper. "And it's my hope that one day she, like David, will one day return to Malawi and help the people of their country."
The singer managed to adopt her son, David Banda, now 3, from Malawi back in 2006. The "Vogue" singer would like to thank everyone for all of the support that she has been given, even though she "cannot publicly discuss the pending appeal" regarding the adoption.
