Mammograms - Is There a Better Way

I was sitting here last night thinking about last year's mammogram. It was so bad it could have scared me off from ever having another mammogram. The technican was rough and not kind. She hurt me over and over and squeezed my breast so tight it was bruised for 4 days. It was so sore, if I had not had pain meds, I would not have gotten through the next few days.

Then I had to have a follow-up and that was pure torture too. I have never seen a breast squeezed so flat. It was enough to make me wait two months past the next recheck they wanted because I dreaded it.

However, yesterday the tech was so kind and so nice and the machine did not pinch me and leave bruises.

Why would women technicans hurt other women when they themselves know how difficult this test is for women?

I wish there was something better than a mammogram to find breast cancer. So if you are doing breast cancer research, this is for you.
