Cleveland Browns coach Eric Mangini has benched quarterback Brady Quinn after starting the season 0-3.

Cleveland Browns v Chicago Bears

After starting the season 0-3, Cleveland Browns coach Eric Mangini has decided to bench quarterback Brady Quinn in favor of the former starter Derek Anderson, reports FOXSports.com. Mangini informed Anderson earlier today that he had obtained the starting job.

According to the Plain Dealer - cleveland.com, Mangini said that starting Anderson is "giving Derek the opportunity...something I think will help us offensively. Anderson started the second half last week against the Baltimore Ravens after Mangini benched Quinn; he performed poorly, throwing three interceptions.

The Associated Press states that Mangini spent all of training camp monitoring the battle for starting quarterback between Quinn and Anderson before selecting Quinn. It didn't seem like the quarterback position made much of a difference in the Browns 34-3 defeat last Sunday at the hands of the Baltimore Ravens.
