Many in Mourning Following Madonna Tour Tragedy

Madonna visits victims of a set collapse in France.

After a tragic accident that killed two and injured as many as 30 crew members who were assembling the set for Madonna's scheduled concert in Marseille, France, the show has been cancelled and Madonna herself is visiting victims and their families, E! Online reports.

According to People, Charles Criscenzo, 53, and Charles Prow, 23, were both killed when part of the set collapsed on Thursday. While the tour continued that night with Madonna taking the stage in Udine, Italy, she returned to France today (the date of the cancelled show) to visit the mourning Criscenzo family, as well as several injured workers in nearby hospitals.

However, the tragedy was not forgotten at Thursday night's show. E! Online reports that Madonna told the Italian audience, "I feel so, so devastated to be in any way associated with anyone's suffering. Let's all just take a moment to appreciate life in general. . . . We are all so blessed and so lucky to be alive."

The tour will continue in Barcelona, Spain on Tuesday.
