Marc Anthony’s controlling side

Last Friday, news broke that singers Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez have decided to call it quits. The news came very suddenly to an audience that was sure Anthony was the one for Lopez.

"She tried so hard to make this marriage work,“ a source told E! Online. "She put up with — and kept putting up with — Marc's controlling ways, which had been going on for a long time, and she was really trying to make the best of it."

Last year, Us Weekly named Lopez the "Style Icon of the Decade" for her continuously beautiful fashion statements. An insider told the publication that Anthony thought the picture was "too sexy and unbecoming for a 40-year-old mother of two."

The former couple recently announced their separation after seven years of marriage. The duo have 3-year-old twins Max and Emme.

"He would make her feel terrible about herself if she wanted to wear something sexy," another source says. "He likes her to dress in a demure, 'wife' style. He hated the fact that she was a sex symbol."

"Marc has always been a very dominating husband," another insider adds. "He wants to control everything Jennifer does.”
