During an interview with Larry King, Mariah Carey mentioned that she was emotionally and mentally abused by her ex-husband Tommy Mottola.

According to MSNBC.com, after King asked Carey about her reaction to the news about Rihanna's abuse, she said: "I can't imagine what she went through" because she didn't get out of the house much when she first started her career. However, after some prodding, she admitted that she has had some experience with abuse.

"Abuse has many categories," she said, "Emotionally, mentally, in other ways."

Carey was married to Mottola, who worked with Sony Music, from 1993 to 1998, writes Contactmusic.com. She told King that she sympathizes with women who are trapped in abusive relationships and how scary it is.

"I just think you get into a situation and you feel locked in. If your situation is similar to one of the situations I've been in, which I won't harp on... For me, to really get out of it was difficult because there was a connection that was not only a marriage, but a business where the person was in control of my life."

Carey also denied rumors about her pregnancy, reports Us Magazine. Although she said that she would love to have a child, she has too many other things to focus on and she "cannot do the having-a-child thing halfway."

"I wouldn't be just like, ‘Oh, I'm having a child, yay! Let me get a nanny so I can give her the baby. Take the kid.' That doesn't work for me. I don't believe in that."
