Mariah Carey Makes History
Touch My Body touches the top spot, making it Mariah Carey's 18th number one hit song.
Move over Elvis. Mariah Carey's latest single, "Touch My Body," reached the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming her eighteenth number one single, reported FOX Business. The Beatles, with 20 number one songs, are the only ones left for Carey to surpass, reported FMQB.com. And with her career going strong, it is certainly a possibility for the singer.
Billboard.com announced that in the song's first week there were 286,000 downloads which pushed in into the number one spot. "Touch My Body" even beat, according to Billboard, Rihanna's summer huge hit, "Umbrella," which had 277,000 downloads.
Also passing an Elvis record -- Madonna with her newest song, "4 Minutes," reported Billboard. She is now the artist with the most top 10 hits in the rock genre.
