Mariah Carey's New Album Out in August
Mariah Carey's 12th studio album titled "Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel" will hit stores on August 25.
According to Reuters, the album is produced by Island Def Jam. The debut single, "Obsessed," is playing on the radio, while a music video, which is directed by Brett Ratner, is in the making. Carey collaborated with producers Tricky Stewart and The-Dream to write the single.
Los Angeles Times reports that the new album will be released in time to match the eligibility rules for the Grammys.
"Obsessed," which debuted on Tuesday, is also generating rumors. According to MTV, while it is difficult to determine at whom Carey is aiming the lyrics, Eminem may be the target. It is suggested that her lyrics respond to Eminem's from his single, "Bagpipes from Baghdad," where he raps to Nick Cannon about wanting her back.
Neither Carey nor the producers are saying who the song is about, but they confirmed that it is definitely about a certain someone.
