Marie Osmond Goes Back to Vegas
Marie Osmond is a strong woman. A day after burying her teenage son, she gathered herself and went onstage to perform her sold-out Las Vegas show Tuesday night.
People magazine reports she told the Flamingo Las Vegas crowd: “The way Osmonds survive is we keep singing. That’s what we want to do tonight. I know my son would want that and this show is for him.”
And the audience showed their appreciation by giving Osmond a standing ovation when her brother, Donny, asked for a round of applause for his sister.
Despite a shaky voice and some tears in her eyes, Osmond fought her emotions and stayed on schedule with the show, People says. During the show Osmond spoke about how her Mormon faith helped her during the recent difficult times she’s endured after her son Michael Bryan committed suicide on Feb. 26.
People says Osmond appeared very emotional by the end of the night as she sang the show’s final song, “It Takes Two.”
As the crowd gave a standing ovation and the song ended, her brother wrapped his sister in a much-needed hug.
