Mario Lopez is the Father of a Girl

Mario Lopez is a dad! The 36-year-old actor/Extra TV host and his girlfriend, Courtney Mazza, welcomed a baby girl into their family. The 28-year-old actress gave birth to the 6 lbs., 4 oz. girl on Saturday in Burbank, CA. The couple named their first child Gia Francesca Lopez. Both mother and child are doing well.

Lopez confirmed the happy news to Extra saying, “We are so overjoyed. What an amazing, wonderful and overwhelming experience to welcome our daughter into the world.”

The couple met in 2008 while starring in Broadway’s A Chorus Line.

According to People, the former Saved by the Bell star hopes to put his daddy duties to use by helping other new dads. He hopes to write a book and film a reality show about being a first-time father. He said, “There's so much out there for women but not so much for men, and I want to be a very hands-on dad.” He added, “I think having a humorous but informative way to tell that story would be great for a show.”
