Mark Wahlberg angers 9/11 widower over 'disrespectful' comments that he wouldn't have let hijackers overtake plane if he was on it

.Mark Wahlberg arrives to tape the Late Show with David Letterman on January 9, 2012 in New York City.....

Mark Wahlberg is shocking many with his comments that he would have taken control of the situation on that fateful date of September 11, 2001.

In an interview with Men’s Journal, the Contraband star is seemingly taking a page out of one of his action films as he said he wouldn’t have let the hijackers get away with their crime.

"If I was on that plane with my kids, it wouldn't have went down like it did," Wahlberg said, MSNBC reports. "There would have been a lot of blood in that first-class cabin and then me saying, 'OK, we're going to land somewhere safely, don't worry.'"

Wahlberg also said before that he has had over fifty dreams about how he could’ve prevented the events of 9/11 had he been on the flight.

TMZ reports that the comment has come under fire from widow Deena Burnett-Bailey, whose husband Thomas Burnett and two others tried to rush the cockpit on the flight.

Burnett-Bailey said her husband called her from the plane and told her "I know we're going to die. There's three of us who are going to do something about it."

She explained, "The plan for Flight 93 was foiled by heroes. For him to speculate that his presence on board could have stopped everything is silly and disrespectful. Sounds like someone is grandstanding."
