Mark Wahlberg receives a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame
Actor Mark Wahlberg has been honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The Associated Press reports, the actor received this honor on July 29. Wahlberg reportedly is the 2,414 star to be honored with a star.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Will Ferrell, who will co-star with Wahlberg in the upcoming movie The Other Guys introduced the honoree with a couple jokes, "I first became a fan of his from his workout videos. And I loved him in the Bourne movies."
Wahlberg, 39, got his start in the singing group New Kids on the Block. He then left the group and formed Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch.
Wahlberg’s role as Dirk Diggler in 1997's Boogie Nights sent him to acting fame. Some other films that the actor has been in are Four Brothers, Three Kings, The Perfect Storm, The Italian Job, Invincible, Shooter, The Lovely Bones, Planet of the Apes, The Happening, and We Own the Night. He was nominated in 2006 for best supporting actor for his role in The Departed.
Wahlberg is also the executive producer of HBO's Entourage.
Wahlberg’s next film, The Other Guys, opens on August 6.
