Marshall to Jets?
According to Newsday, the New York Jets are interested in trading for unhappy and suspended wide receiver Brandon Marshall of the Denver Broncos. The Broncos suspended Marshall earlier this week due to insubordination. He is in the final year of his contract and seeks a high-paying extension.
USA Today reports that the Jets were pursuing Marshall back in August, and presuming no trade goes through, Jericho Cotchery will start the season as the number one wide receiver. Last season, Cotchery was the Jets number two wide receiver, but is taking the slot left by Laveranues Coles, who signed with the Cincinnati Bengals in the off season.
The National Football Post states that the Broncos would seek a first round draft pick in a potential exchange for Marshall.
