Marshall in Talks to Direct "Pirates 4"

Disney targets Rob Marshall to direct the film.

Rob Marshall could be directing the fourth "Pirates of the Caribbean" installment.

According to TheHDRoom, Disney is in talks to finish negotiations with Marshall in directing the film. Verbinski, who was scheduled to originally direct the project, has dropped out to work on the film "BioShock." Jerry Bruckheimer, producer, is planning to finish "Pirates 4" next summer before the film's star Johnny Depp begins acting for Disney's "The Lone Ranger."

Examiner.com reports that auditions have begun for the new "Pirates" film, as Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightly may not be returning to their characters. This means that the plot will focus on Captain Jack Sparrow's new adventure, TheHDRoom.com said.

Bruckheimer has previously worked on popular films such as "National Treasure 1 and 2," "G-Force," "Confessions of a Shopaholic," "Black Hawk Down," "Pearl Harbor" and the "Pirates of the Caribbean" sequence, Examiner.com reports.

Meanwhile, Verbinski has worked on "The Ring," while Marshall has directed "Memoirs of a Geisha" and Oscar winner "Chicago," BBC News said.
