Martha Stewart has launched a new animated web series called Martha & Friends on AOLKids.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the series follows Martha’s 10-year-old self, her three best friends and two dogs, Francesca and Sharkey, as they take on DIY projects and use their creative skills to produce fun games and crafts.
Episodes teach children how to make things on their own, like greeting cards, spa makeovers and baked goods. At the end of each episode, the recipes and instructions for each specific craft are displayed to make things easier.
“Kids are extraordinarily imaginative and we are so glad to be part of a project that encourages, celebrates and rewards their innate creativity and curiosity,” Stewart said. “Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve had a passion for crafting and cooking and my hope is that this series will inspire a whole new generation of do-it-yourselfers.”
The animated series is expected to air 26 mini episodes bi-weekly on AOL Kids.
