Martin Scorsese Being Sued for $600,000
Director Martin Scorsese is being sued for book-keeping costs and services provided by jailed financial adviser Kenneth Starr, according to BBC News .
The Shutter Island director is being sued for $600,000 by receivers for Starr Investment Advisors because he allegedly failed to pay fees of 5 percent of his earned income between the years of 2006 and 2010 to the company, according to court documents.
Meanwhile, Kenneth Starr, 66, is currently in jail after being accused of stealing at least $59 million from stars such as Scorsese, Al Pacino, and Uma Thurman. He has also been charged with wire fraud, securities fraud, and misappropriation of funds, according to BBC News .
A spokesman for Scorsese denies the accusations toward the director in this case, saying, “Martin Scorsese’s Sikelia Productions has paid substantial fees to his former business manager’s firm, and if it has been determined that there is anything still outstanding, it will be rectified.”
