Mary J. Blige to Join "American Idol"
R&B singer Mary J. Blige will be joining Katy Perry and Victoria Beckham on "American Idol," though not on the same stage. PEOPLE reported that Blige will be sitting at a desk with Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Kara Kara DioGuardi in Atlanta for "Idol" auditions.
The information came from a tweet via Ryan Seacrest's radio show producer Natalie Eshaya. She wrote, "Mary J Blige, guest idol judge in atlanta monday!"
Blige is part of a long line of guest judges set to fill in for Paula Abdul, who left "Idol" when she could not negotiate a larger increase in her salary. Nationwide auditions for "Idol" are currently underway and there will be more guest judges as the auditions progress. The show producers are also searching for a permanent fourth judge.
Beckham wrapped up her judging stint in Boston Friday, where an "Idol" rep said that "She's had a great response so far, and has been really warm with the contestants." There has been no confirmed date for Perry.
