Mary Tyler Moore Stars in "Lipstick Jungle"

Moore will appear in the 2nd season of the NBC series.

Mary Tyler Moore is set to appear in NBC's Lipstick Jungle, Hollywood Reporter Outlines.

The secondseason of the comedy-drama will kick off on Sept. 24.

Reuters.com states that Moore will guest star as a retired executive Joyce who's also the mother of Wendy Healy, Brooke Shields' character.

According to Hollywood Reporter, Moore said: "I'm fortunate to have had a front row seat to the evolution of working women on television...It's been great fun to watch the strong female characters of 'Lipstick Jungle' go at it week after week. I absolutely adore Brooke and I'm delighted to be a part of a show which is so well written."

The series is based on the book by Candace Bushnell who also wrote Sex and the City that later came to spawn to the highly successful HBO TV series.

Bushnell stands as executive producer together with Oliver Goldstick.

Lipstick Jungle also stars Lindsay Price as a designer and Kim Raver as the editor-in-chief of a fashion publication. Shields' character Wendy Healy is a movie executive, Reuters.com reports.

Moore is widely known from the 1970s Emmy-winning The Mary Tyler Moore Show.

According to Hollywood Reporter, Moore was also nominated for an Academy Award generated by her acting contribution in the 1980s Ordinary People. She received the Golden Globe Award the same year.
