After much buzz over Matthew Broderick’s Super Bowl commercial revival of Ferris Bueller, the entire ad has finally been released.

E! Online reported Honda, who created the commercial, released the entire clip Monday.

The two-and-a-half minute clip pays homage to the 1986 movie that rocketed Broderick to fame. And while there are definite similarities between the commercial and Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, there are also a lot of differences as well.

As Today points out, the commercial takes place in Los Angeles, while the movie was set in Chicago.

In addition, Broderick’s first scene in the ad takes place in a hotel room where he calls his boss to call in sick and get a pass on filming his movie. In the movie he’s in his bedroom pretending to be his parents and calling in sick to school.

And since he crashed the beautiful red Ferrari in the film, it obviously wasn’t available for the ad. But that’s okay, because Honda has plenty of cars to take its place, mainly its Honda CR-V van.

Broderick is also seen participating in a parade, staring contently at museum exhibits and cheering at a racetrack (in the film he was at a baseball game).

Unfortunately, there were no Cameron or Sloan substitutes, but there was a fill-in Ed Rooney. Check out the video below.
