Maura Tierney puts off "Parenthood"
PopEater.com has stated that Maura Tierney, due to an unspecified illness, will be not be able to begin filming scenes for the new TV series, "Parenthood." The series was supposed to start filming near the end of July, but has been pushed back to late September. Tierney is known as Dr. Abby Lockhart in her Emmy-nominated role on the hospital drama, "ER." The new show is a spin-off of Steve Martin's original movie of the same name.
The New York Times states that the studio will not release any further details pertaining to Tierney's leave, but it is likely the premiere of the series will not be until 2010. Tierney was expected to play a woman who decides to live with her parents after facing money trouble, creating an extended family. This has not been the first delay on the set, as Nora O'Brien passed away on the set unexpectedly in April.
