FOXSports.com reports that in his return to the ring after over a year, Floyd "Money" Mayweather Jr. defeated Juan Manuel Marquez on Saturday night. Mayweather showed no rust, dominating the fight, defeating Marquez in 12 rounds by unanimous decision.
According to the Los Angeles Times, since Mayweather's last fight 21 months ago, many boxing critics now perceive Manny Pacquiao to be the best pound per pound fighter in the world. Speaking of weight, Mayweather Jr. weighed in at 146 lbs, for which he was fined $600,000. Just for participation in the fight, he earned at least $10 million.
SI.com states that all eyes are now on a dream matchup between Mayweather Jr. and Pacquio. But first, Pacquio must defeat Migeul Cotto on Nov. 14.
