McMahon Dead at 86
The late night world lost arguably their most recognizable sidekicks and icons, as Ed McMahon passed away shortly after midnight on Tuesday June 23rd. According to his publicist, Howard Bragman, McMahon was surrounded by his wife, Pam and other family members at the time of his passing at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. Bragman did not provide an exact cause of death, but cited that McMahon suffered a great number of ailments that lead to the overall decline of his health. These ailments subsequently prohibited McMahon from working and resulted in financial difficulties. These difficulties have been recently highlighted in the media.Nonetheless, McMahon's legacy is far too great to be blemished by said financial woes. During his tenure as Johnny Carson's loveable sidekick, McMahon captured the hearts of nocturnal Americans with his infectious catchphrases. From the resonant opener, "H-e-e-e-e-ere's Johnny!" to the genious comedic timing of his "Hi-yo!", McMahon will go down late night history.
