Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen could easily be the biggest movie at the box office this summer and actress Megan Fox can take some of the credit for that. The 23-year-old actress made her breakthrough in the first "Transformers" movie two years ago. Fox recently has been critical of "Transformers" director, Michael Bay, saying that his films are all special effects and don't offer anything as far as acting goes. Bay fought back, telling the Wall Street Journal that Fox, "Has a lot of growing up to do. . . . No one in the world knew about Megan Fox until I found her and put her in 'Transformers.'"
Although Fox has been extremely enthusiastic and supportive about the "Transformers" films, she does seem to be biting the hand that fed her, in some respect.
In her defense, Bay, who has directed films such as "Armageddon," "Bad Boys," and "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre," has been notoriously chauvinistic in his films: female characters are mere eye candy for the audience. Fox is clearly expressing her frustration being stuck in this role, but when Maxine Page of Life and Style Magazine deems you the "No. 1 sought-after actress under 30," consider yourself lucky.
The Fox vs. Bay feud may continue, but nothing numbs the pain like a summer blockbuster that pumps out $300 million in two weeks.
