Mel Gibson, Girlfriend Expecting Baby

Mel Gibson and his girlfriend, Oksana Grigorieva, are expecting a baby, the actor's rep has confirmed. This news comes just six weeks after Gibson and his wife, Robyn, filed for divorce after 28 years of marriage.

Grigorieva, 39, is a Russian born musician who is signed to Gibson's record label, Icon Records. She is in her second trimester and due in the fall.

The new baby will be child number eight for Gibson, 53. He has seven children from his marriage to Robyn, ranging from age 29 to 10. Grigorieva also has a son from a previous relationship with actor Timothy Dalton.

In April, Gibson's wife, Robyn, filed a divorce petition citing "irreconcilable differences." While the news appeared shocking, the couple has actually been separated for almost three years.

Gibson and Grigorieva made their first public appearance together during an industry screening of the film, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, April 29.
