Mel Gibson’s divorce was finalized Friday with his ex-wife Robyn getting half his $850 million fortune.

Gibson was married to Robyn for nearly 30 years. Their marriage led to seven children.

She was legally entitled to half of everything Gibson earned during their marriage because they did not sign a prenuptial agreement.

Robyn’s settlement is now considered the biggest divorce payout in Hollywood.

Over $600 million of Gibson’s fortune came from the profits of his film The Passion of the Christ(2004). Another $100 million came from real estate investments, including an island in Fiji that Gibson bought in 2005 for $15 million. He also earned $75 million for film television projects he produced.

"I left my wife because we had no spiritual common ground," Gibson told his former lover (and mother of his eighth child) Oksana Grigorieva, who secretly recorded conversations with Gibson in February 2010. Those tapes also revealed Gibson making threats and racial slurs against her. She later claimed that he physically assaulted her.

During his subsequent custody battle with Grigorieva, Robyn stated that Gibson was a loving father and never abused her or their children.

Gibson denied assaulting Grigorieva but pleaded no contest to a charge of domestic violence. He was placed on probation in March.
