Melissa Etheridge to Wed Girlfriend
She'll follow Ellen DeGeneres and George Takei over the past month in their gay marriage.
Melissa Etheridge will marry longtime girlfriend Tammy Lynn Michaels, the singer told Extra before the California legislation votes in November about whether to continue to allow same-sex couples to marry in the state.
"Yes, we have four children and we're trying to find the right time," Etheridge said when the celebrity show asked the question during an interview Wednesday night.
Back in May, the California Supreme Court granted same-sex couples the right to marry in California, but then residents who opposed this decision drafted an amendment that said the state should ban same-sex marriage.
Etheridge is arguably on the list of the top five celebrities to openly admit that they are lesbians.
