Melissa Rycroft and Husband Expecting First Child

People has reported that former Dancing with the Stars and The Bachelor contestant, Melissa Rycroft, announced on Wednesday that she is expecting her first child with her husband, insurance agent Tye Strickland.

“Apparently Tye and I wanted to see how many life-changing events we could fit into one calendar year, from getting engaged, married, new job, and we are now pregnant,” the expectant mother said.

"It was a shock. We weren't even trying," Rycroft, 27, revealed. “It’s the most wonderful surprise in the world.”

Rycroft also said that she was not expecting a baby to come so early. "He wanted the kids right away, and I was laughing at him going, 'No, not ready!'"

The Bachelor star said that she currently has a “baby pooch,” but “the baby bump will come later.”

The couple said “I do” in Mexico back in December. The baby is due in February.

Rycroft is set to co-host the new reality show Bachelor Pad with Bachelor host Chris Harrison.
