Mendes and Winslet Grew Apart, Source Says
Just days after Kate Winslet and husband Sam Mendes shocked Hollywood by splitting after almost seven years together, a source tells People magazine the two simply “grew apart.”
The unnamed insider also says Mendes’ workaholic nature was one of the catalysts for the separation that originated in January.
According to the source, Winslet was sticking it out for the children and the couple wanted to keep the news under the radar. Mendes and Winslet have a 6-year-old son, Joe, and Winslet also has a 9-year-old daughter, Mia, from a previous marriage.
The couple no longer lives together, the source says, but Mendes is living in the same New York apartment complex.
People reports Winslet is currently vacationing in Mexico with her brother and rumors she is hooking up with Leonardo DiCaprio are inaccurate.
Winslet’s next project is filming a remake of Mildred Pierce for HBO in New York beginning next month.
