Metallica Melts Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Doors Down
Metallica joined the many legends of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Saturday evening, and made it a night to remember, according to USA Today.
Although the night was co-hosted by someone as irrelevant as Jared Cotter, a former American Idol contestant, Metallica received the honor the only way they knew how, shredding on stage, reported Entertainment Weekly.
This was the first Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony to be open to the public. Almost 5,000 fans watched from the balconies and over 1,000 VIP tickets got to enjoy closer tables, some that were priced as much as $50,000 each, reports S.F. Chornicle.
Also inducted into the Hall of Fame were Run-DMC, who many believe bridged the gap of hip-hop and rock, Jeff Beck, who has also been inducted for his former band the Yardbirds in 1992, and soul singer Bobby Womack, just to name a few.
