Canadian singer Michael Buble’s Christmas album has dominated the Billboard Top 200 chart for the past month during the holiday season. The album has now topped the chart for a fourth straight week.
Christmas has been on the market for the past two months, but sold 448,000 copies according to Nielsen SoundScan, Billboard reports. The album has sold 1.96 million copies in the US alone, making it the third best-selling album of 2011, only topped by Lady Gaga’s Born This Way with 2.03 million and Adele’s 21 with 5.28 million. 21 is now the best-selling album since 2004’s Confessions by Usher.
Christmas, 21 and other past releases dominated the charts, with no new release able to crack the top ten. The highest charting new release was Anthony Hamilton’s Back To Love, which sold 63,000 copies, which was good for the number 12 spot.
According to Variety, the top ten features 21 at number two, selling an additional 277,000 copies in its 43rd week on the chart. Justin Bieber’s Under The Mistletoe jumped to number three, selling 171,000 copies.
The Black Keyes’ El Comino debuted at number two last week, but fell to number four, only selling 85,000, while Lady Antebellum’s Own The Night climbed to number five with 81,000 copies.
Nickelback’s Here and Now came in at number six, ahead of Drake’s Take Care.
