Michael Cera Invades the Small Screen

Cera develop's new project for FX

Indie sweetheart Michael Cera will soon be invading your television screens. The Scott Pilgrim vs. The World star is currently developing an original series for FX called 13th Grade, according to The Wrap.

13th Grade will be a slacker comedy about a high school grad who goes on a quest of self-improvement after his girlfriend leaves him.

Cera is writing the script with Derek Waters, who has appeared on Funny or Die Present and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Emil Kapnek, who wrote and produced several episodes of the first season of HBO’s Hung, and Paige Gullian, a friend of Waters.

Waters is set to star in the show and Cera will make an appearance in the first episode, but his role will not be recurring.

You can watch Waters and Gullivan’s original short film, 13th Grade, on YouTube.
